Today, the Iraqi Security Information Cell announced that a Katyusha-type missile had fallen near a military base in the vicinity of the Green Zone in which the US embassy is located in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Iraqi media quoted the cell as saying in a statement today that “a Katyusha-type missile fell near one of the gates of the Green Zone in central Baghdad where the US embassy is,” without giving further details.

Several media outlets also carried a video clip in which the spokesman for the so-called US-led international coalition in Iraq, Colonel Miles Caggins, was shown today fleeing in hiding while a missile fell in the vicinity of the Green Zone in Baghdad, where he was interviewing a local Iraqi channel and when he heard the sound of the alarm. Of the US embassy, ​​he fled and hid inside an embassy building.

And media sources reported that sirens sounded at the military base of the American embassy in Baghdad, and that American aircraft were flying overhead.
