Kelly Clarkson replaces Simon Cowell 0:40
(CNN) - Simon Cowell will not be on Tuesday and Wednesday's episodes of "America's Got Talent" due to injury, but thankfully the talent competition knew who to call for a time like this.
Singer and recent Daytime Emmy winner Kelly Clarkson, whom Cowell once crowned the winner of "American Idol," will serve as a guest judge on this week's live broadcasts, according to NBC and the statement posted on social media from Clarkson.

"My friend Simon Cowell is better now, but he had an accident and will not be able to attend the live shows on Tuesday and Wednesday for AGT, but don't worry America, someone much wiser, cooler and more attractive is taking! your seat! ”Clarkson wrote. Cowell injured his back while riding an electric bike and required surgery.
Cowell thanked those who sent him well wishes for his "kind messages" in a tweet posted Monday.
Clarkson will join judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofía Vergara.
Terry Crews is the host of the show.
