New crown pneumonia | The outbreak has not been broken

2020-08-11T00:10:22.609Z

Since the outbreak of the third wave of new crown pneumonia, it has only been more than a month, and the number of confirmed cases has accumulated to about 3,000, accounting for about 70% of the total confirmed cases. As the epidemic worsens, society is concerned about the lack of quarantine facilities in addition to the availability of hospital beds. Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, described in mid-July that citizens' lives were "variety and colorful", saying bluntly: "Everyone does not change their behavior, even if many quarantine centers are not enough." According to data from the Center for Health Protection At present, the authorities have a total of 2,682 quarantine units, of which the utilization rate is about 47.5%. However, because some units need to be repaired or disinfected, only 602 can be used immediately. However, if the units in Junyang Village that are to be returned are excluded from the data, there may be an overwhelming load, owing about 470 units. Whether there are enough units in the end, or how long it will take for existing units that are not available for immediate use, and whether the additional 700 units in Penny's Bay can be completed by the end of September as scheduled.

Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, described in mid-July that citizens' lives are "variety and colorful", saying bluntly: "There is no change in behavior, even more quarantine centers are not enough."

According to data from the Centre for Health Protection, the authorities currently have 2,682 quarantine units, of which the utilization rate is about 47.5%.

At present, the government has 4 quarantine centers, which are mainly used to arrange the admission of close contacts of confirmed cases. They are the Juvenile Police Call Permanent Activity Center and the Youth Comprehensive Training Camp, which can provide 205 units; Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Center provides 99 units; Phase 1 of the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center, which provides 800 units; and Blocks 1, 2 and 3 of Junyang Village, totaling 1,575 units. The 4 quarantine centers provide a total of 2,682 units. In addition, with the development of the epidemic, community isolation facilities have recently been added, including Zhangmutou Holiday Center for the Elderly, and Leiyuemen Park Resort. The former has 49 units and the latter has 350 units.

Looking at the information, Hong Kong originally had more locations designated as designated quarantine centers, but they have been returned or changed to other uses, such as Junyang Village. The government announced that they would be returned to the Housing Authority at the end of June, before the third wave of outbreaks. Yes, at present, Blocks 4 and 5 of Junyang Village are no longer used for quarantine purposes. The Cuiya Mountain House of the Rao Tsung-Bai Cultural Center of Mei Foo, which was once used as a quarantine center, was returned by the government in early July due to the expiration of the lease. In addition, the Lei Yue Mun Park Resort in Chai Wan was originally a quarantine center, but at the end of July it was changed to a community isolation facility of the Hospital Authority to relieve the pressure on hospital isolation beds. The Cao Kung Tan Outdoor Recreation Center and Lady MacLehose Resort, which were originally quarantine centers, are now allowing Hong Kong residents who require compulsory quarantine but cannot arrange their accommodation to stay temporarily.

According to the data of the Health Protection Center as of 9 a.m. on August 10, 1,273 of the 2,682 units in the 4 quarantine centers are in use, the utilization rate is about 47.5%, and a total of 1,770 people are in quarantine; there are units that can be used immediately. 602 units, and the remaining units are waiting to be repaired or disinfected.

The government has revealed that it is expected that Blocks 1 to 3 of Junyang Village will be occupied by the end of October and the quarantine function will be postponed to mid-August. However, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor also pointed out that the timetable for the return will be reviewed if necessary. According to data, Junyang Village accounts for 59.7% of the quarantine units currently in use, with a total of 760; among the units available for immediate use, Junyang Village also accounts for 51.3%, with a total of 309 units. If the Chunyang Village is now fully returned, based on the current number of people under quarantine, there are only 293 units left for immediate use, which is not enough to accommodate, and there is a shortage of 467 units. However, if all the units to be repaired and disinfected can be put into use, 591 quarantine units can be provided, which is still enough to accommodate all quarantine persons.

In fact, the government is also building an additional quarantine center. Penny's Bay was originally reserved for tourism development. The construction of the quarantine center started as early as the end of June. It can provide an additional 700 units and is estimated to be operational by the end of September. In addition, the government will invest in the second phase of Penny's Bay Disneyland to build an additional 2,000 units and strive to be completed by the end of this year. In other words, the two can provide an additional 2,700 units. If calculated based on current data, after the return of Junyang Village, There will be 3,804 units at the end of this year, which is more than the current number. Carrie Lam said earlier that experts believe that there may be an outbreak in winter, but she believes that the units in Penny's Bay will be enough to cope with the next wave of epidemics.

▼In the third wave, the government has extended the restrictions on gatherings and banned food in the evening market.▼
