It is still curious that when humans are overwhelmed in the midst of uncertainty, we look for a lifeline both in science and in believing anyone. Two things as antagonistic as the scientific spirit or superstition seem equally to provide the relief of certainties that we lack. What if deep down it happened that this resort to science was not so different from the trickery that seems to oppose it?
