The official representative of the World Health Organization in Russia, Tariq Jasarevich, announced that the world organization is in contact with the Russian authorities regarding the evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of the first registered vaccine against the emerging corona virus.
"We are in contact with the Russian authorities, and the discussion is about pre-qualifying the vaccine," Sputnik news agency quoted Jasarevich as saying in a press briefing today, noting that the acceleration of vaccine production should not come at the expense of its safety.
He added that WHO experts must verify the safety of any new product in advance, in order to know its performance according to international standards for vaccine production.
And Russian President Vladimir Putin announced earlier today the registration of the first vaccine against the emerging corona virus "Covid 19" in the world.
