Argentina would seek to double its pork production

Environmentalists warn of some dangers due to the scale of a project to increase pork production in Argentina. The country currently produces 700,000 tonnes, but the Argentine Foreign Ministry has said that the country seeks to increase pork production by more than 880,000 within four years. According to Lisandro Culasso, president of the Argentine Association of Pig Producers, the project would still be in a premature phase and "only governments are talking about this."
