Germany's border: Most of the expulsions came from Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria

This is reported by the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung", citing a response from the federal government to a request from the left-wing parliamentary group. Accordingly, a total of 11,081 corresponding rulings were issued in 2019. In the previous year, 7408 people were expelled.
According to the report, most of the injunctions were directed against Ukrainians (1252), Albanians (1220) and Serbs (828). According to the ministry, by far the most expulsion orders in the past year were issued in Baden-Württemberg with 3540 cases, followed by North Rhine-Westphalia with 1762 and Bavaria with 1376 cases.
The expulsion is a measure to avert danger. Foreigners can be expelled if they believe they pose a threat to public safety and order. Those affected have to leave Germany and are not allowed to re-enter. If they do not comply with the request, they can be deported.
The left criticized the overall strong increase. Domestic politician Ulla Jelpke called for the abolition because it was an "unjust double punishment". Some of the people affected have been living in Germany for decades and would be torn from their social ties if they were expelled here. "That is cruel and wrong," said Jelpke.
