The municipality of Rosh HaAyin announced tonight (Wednesday) that in the opinion of its legal entities there is no legal impediment to approving the construction request of the Deputy for Economic Enforcement Liat Ben-Ari.

Earlier, Ben-Ari and her husband were summoned for questioning by the municipality's enforcement department after an unauthorized construction anomalies were found in an inspection by a municipal inspector. Ben-Ari responded that she did not receive any invitation for questioning, although she did get there.

"Attorney Liat Ben-Ari and her partner Aviv Shviki were summoned for a routine investigation on suspicion of construction irregularities in a property registered in their name in Rosh HaAyin," the municipality said.

The couple submitted an application to the local planning and building committee for a permit to split the apartment after an inspector located the deviation in the area and the issue is in the process of being settled. The Rosh HaAyin municipality handles dozens of similar cases each year, and in any case of suspected construction irregularity, the property owner is summoned for questioning.

The legal advisers of the municipality and the planning and construction committee believe that there is no legal impediment to approving the application similar to the many and similar requests that have been discussed and approved by the committee.

Hanoch Oz, a member of the planning and construction plenum in Rosh HaAyin and a member of the Likud party's city council, told Israel Today earlier that "I am glad that the system understood that there is no way to evade the law. One law for all. "For an investigation to end the proceedings before an indictment is filed. It should be understood that this is a criminal proceeding for all intents and purposes and these are serious economic offenses." However it appears that there is no intention in the municipality to file an indictment.
