The wheat field near Fischen, in which the crop circle is located, should be mowed on Wednesday if the weather is right. However, there is a special regulation for the area with the geometric figures.

  • The fish crop circle is a real crowd puller.
  • Farmer Georg Steingruber would now like to mow the wheat field.
  • The area with the crop circle should remain standing for a while.

Fishing - lucky that Georg Steingruber is such a relaxed guy. The farmer from Aidenried gets down from his tractor, smiles, says hello and patiently answers questions from the local newspaper. Before that, he spoke to an employee of a national daily newspaper on his cell phone for a good quarter of an hour. There is a lot of work to be done on the farm, but Steingruber takes time for those interested.

Crop circle: The combine harvester is due to arrive on Wednesday

Steingruber has been in great demand since a crop circle was discovered in a field he cultivated near Fischen - and not by the media. Inquiries from people who are interested in the mysterious attraction trickle in from all over Europe. The crop circle was discovered two and a half weeks ago. The hype is not that bad anymore, says the farmer: "Finally things are going well."

Yesterday morning there were about a dozen cars in the parking lot at the Ammer, a few people romping around in the crop circle. A man from Augsburg came especially with his son. He had - just returned from vacation - heard about the crop circle on television. "If there is anything like that in the vicinity, you have to look at it," he said and set off in the direction of the field. A combine harvester will soon be heading to the 3.9 hectare area.

Crop circle: the area with the geometric figures remains

If the weather permits, the field will be mowed on Wednesday. The area with the geometric figures remains standing for the time being, emphasizes Steingruber. “People enjoy it so much,” he says. "It would be a shame to get rid of it now." The lessor of the property had also come to meet him. He allows a summer crop such as silo maize to be grown there in the coming year. Based on the agreement, Steingruber can leave the crop circle standing. "That's great. For that I say 'thank you' ”, said the farmer.

The overall sensible behavior of the visitors certainly played an important role in Steingruber's decision: “Nothing is missing here. We haven't had any trouble with people so far. ”In the morning, according to Steingruber's experience, esotericists often come to meditate. In the evenings there is always an “illustrious company”, and people often sing. Young people are increasingly using the fine weather to picnic. Two garbage bags are hung at the entrance to the field. They are usually full every two days during the week. “It's a little worse at the weekend,” says Steingruber with a smile. Every day he looks at the field to see if everything is okay there. The hunting tenants in the area are not very happy about the constant stream of visitors, reports Aidenrieder: “They can't hunt at the moment”.

Crop circle: Farmer is still receiving inquiries from all over Europe

Steingruber says that one could never have stopped people from visiting the crop circle. Experience showed that on the very first day, when the mayor himself escorted some curious people out of the field. “It was gone, and then ten minutes later there were 50 people again,” said Steingruber. The first few days, he says, “were tough,” especially since the family had only recently grown. Little Paul, the fourth child in total, was born 15 days before the crop circle was discovered. And things also had to be settled with the authorities. There was also a possible fine of 25,000 euros in the room if someone were to contract Corona in the field. But this threatening scenario is, according to Steingruber, off the table because he is not the "organizer" of the matter. The visitors themselves have to ensure that the corona rules are observed; the police check regularly. The community has provided barriers around the field and on the paths.

Steingruber thought "that after five or six days the run will wear off". But only recently have not that many come. And yet people from all over Germany, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and even Belarus are asking whether they can still visit the crop circle. That's another reason why he leaves him there.

Steingruber plans to mow the actual crop circle at the end of September. He had already been asked that the grain from it could safely be used for a special “energy bread”. If a baker is interested, he can get in touch. The fruit “is the finest baking wheat”.

This is also interesting: several fire departments were called on Saturday evening to report that a kite / small plane crashed that had never happened. The pilgrimage church on the Hohen Peißenberg has a new gem to offer - a reliquary from the baroque era. The dry spell in Polling is over: the beer garden of the "Klosterwirtschaft" is open again.
