The market town of Peißenberg has had a new, 15,000 euro expensive toilet set up on the seam. That should make it easier for many rail travelers.

Peißenberg - “How do you actually inaugurate a toilet?” Asked Mayor Frank Zellner (CSU) with a smile when he showed the press representative the newly set up public toilet facility at the community center and the “Flöz” youth center.

The community has invested 15,000 euros in the five square meter, handicapped accessible toilet room. An effort that was urgently needed: if you had to go to a quiet little place in the station area, the only contact points that were left up to now were the Rigi-Center and - during the opening hours of the community library - the Max-Biller-Haus. There have been no public toilets at the station itself for ages. Long before the former station parlor was sold to the “Crazy Devils” motorcycle club, the train had shut down the toilets.

Despite the community's inquiries, the railway no longer saw itself responsible for the matter. But now there is an alternative: The toilet facility in the “Flöz” is initially open from Monday to Friday between 5.30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Later it should also be accessible on weekends. Due to the pandemic situation, the toilet must be disinfected regularly. This cannot be guaranteed on Saturdays and Sundays. The municipality is still looking for a suitable service provider. Health protection, emphasizes Zellner, has absolute priority.

Otherwise the toilet facility is the "optimal solution". It is true that they thought about a toilet block at the Moosleiten car park: “But that would have been too expensive.” Zellner's “urgent request” is that the users leave the toilet facility in a clean condition and pay attention to hygiene. Only then can the offer be maintained permanently. And actually it should be a matter of course that the toilet should be left in the way you want it to be. As Zellner revealed on the edge of the toilet inauguration, the town house part of the seam is dedicated as the wedding venue. The first wedding couple has already booked the premises. Together with Vice Town Hall Chief Robert Halbritter (SPD), Zellner also wants to hold a mayor's consultation hour in the “Flöz” every second Thursday of the month. The Diakoniedorf Herzogsägmühle will also set up an advisory office. And with regard to the “Repair Café” suggested by former Mayor Manuela Vanni (Peißenberger list), initial preliminary talks would be held.
