Great action by the Dorfen high school students.
Dorfen - Class 10 a of the Dorfen grammar school wanted to help other people during the Corona crisis. The clients and their children of the BRK women's shelter in the Erding district benefited from this.
As part of the art class, the students at the Dorfen grammar school expressed their desire to help with works of art. Art teacher Karin Hildebrandt-Buchner supported this, so that very personal and creative pictures on the subject of "You are not alone" were created. Classes 9 a and 10 a took part in the painting competition of the VR-Bank Taufkirchen-Dorfen on the subject of "happiness" with these pictures and received a donation of 50 euros per class as a bonus.
Because the 100 euros seemed too little to them, the tenth graders added something from their pocket money. They then proudly handed over EUR 206.10 to the women's refuge staff Nadine Plath, Stefanie Rösele and Nicole Woltron.
Headmaster Markus Höß is enthusiastic about the commitment of his students. All of them together had the good feeling that their gift could bring some joy to women and their children who are in a personal exceptional situation. The donated money will be used to design children's birthdays, for a garden project with all residents and for the occasional purchase of tickets for public transport for the women.
The social workers of the BRK women's shelter in the district of Erding were very happy about the donation and reported on their various tasks, on personal experiences from their everyday work and answered the questions of those present at the handover. They also provided information about the counseling activities of the intervention center.
