Ullah, one of the Amoraim of the Talmudic period, had the opportunity to visit the head of the Rosh Hagola on Shabbat. Inside the house he saw Rabba Bar Rav Huna, another amora, sitting in a tub full of water, and while sitting in it, measuring its size. Ulla turned to him, and wondered in his face, it is permissible to measure things on Shabbat for the purpose of a mitzvah, but if it is not necessary, it is forbidden. Rav Bar Rabba Hona responded to him, I do not measure the tub for a specific need but just, and such measurement is not forbidden on Shabbat.

These are holy and righteous people, they would not just do things, what happened there that Saturday? Rabbi Yosef Chaim of Baghdad explained that on that Saturday there was a heavy heat outside, and Rabbi Bar Rab Hona went into the bowl of water to cool himself from the heat. He was a righteous man, constantly studying and engaging in Torah thought, and due to the prohibition against studying Torah
while bathing, he engaged himself in measuring the tub so as not to think in the words of Torah.

Not everything a person goes through in life is happy, and not everything is according to our plans. There are sad or unplanned things. How can we prevent the sad cases from affecting us? Rabbi Chaim David Kowalski, presenter of the digital gemara, explained that "from the story we learned in the gemara we learn that there is such a possibility. We control the brain in a simple way."

The rabbi noted that this is "not too difficult a task". He said, "We have found something happier to think about and thus occupy our minds thinking about it. Meanwhile, time passes, troubles become good news, and life becomes happier than it was before." Sometimes, it should be emphasized, this is not an easy task, which requires effort, but one that can help a lot.
