Speeders have long been a thorn in the side of the residents of Kaltenbrunner Strasse. They are calling for a speed of 50 km. The administrative court is now dealing with the issue.

  • Residents demand 50 km / h on the Ackerberg
  • Administrative court meets on site
  • Will the area be a new district?

Finsterwald - The fact that motorists like to step on the accelerator on Kaltenbrunner Straße between Gut Kaltenbrunn and Tegernseer Hof has long been a concern for residents. Those affected speak of 20 years of anger. In 2018, they last turned to the district office and asked for a speed limit of 50 km / h - made possible by moving the Finsterwalder place name sign in the direction of Kaltenbrunn. The request was refused.

The situation was then even the subject of a traffic day with the district office, police, municipality and applicants. There was also an on-site meeting with the police. In order to prove that on both sides of the curve, which is also on a confusing crest, the gas is being accelerated vigorously, the municipality then had pace measurements carried out. It was found that after the place name sign, an average of 70 km / h is driven.

Because the authorities did not agree with the relocation of the place-name sign and the fact that the local residents were not satisfied with the fact that the speed limit signs were set up in the meantime, one family decided to go to court. The goal: The area should become a new district, combined with the speed limit in the town: 50 km / h.

Tempo 50 on Ackerberg: Administrative court comes

On Thursday, August 13th, the Bavarian Administrative Court in Munich met the presiding judge Dr. Dietmar Wolff off to Gmund. After the on-site inspection, the oral hearing will take place in the town hall meeting room. Mayor Alfons Besel (FWG), who is invited on behalf of the community, finds it "regrettable" that the request is now leading to a process. He is on the side of the local residents. "The situation is confusing and dangerous," says Besel in the run-up to the negotiation, in which residents are suing the Free State of Bavaria.

The plaintiffs will argue that it is a small settlement with around 25 residential buildings. Seven exits lead to Kaltenbrunner Straße, on which - apart from pedestrians on the sidewalk - there are many cyclists who are exposed to car traffic. At the end of the day, the decision is made as to whether the settlement will actually become a “Ackerberg” district at a speed of 50 km / h.
