There are three words in black letters, on a white background, on a sign that occupies the entire street. " Justice for Blas, " he says. The crowd that marches through the microcenter of the city of Córdoba accompanies the relatives and friends of a 17-year-old boy who suffered an absurd death, a murder committed by an institution whose mission is to protect and serve the people: the Police.

On Wednesday, July 6, early in the morning, Valentino Blas Correas was shot in the back when he escaped with his friends from a chase, minutes after leaving a bar. Scared by a confusing incident with a motorcyclist, the driver of the Fiat Argo accelerated. Besides him and Blas, there were three other teenagers. Two of them could also have died, because the bullets passed them by millimeters.

The march of silence for this shocking case of an easy trigger began on time, at six in the afternoon this Thursday, at the corner of Colón and General Paz avenues. There is Juan (19), Blas's brother, his grandparents, friends. They are wearing T-shirts asking " Justice for Blas ." They wear masks, although they cannot respect the social distancing imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Another of the posters says: " Not one more bullet, not one less Blas, Justice for Blas ." In the mobilization, where there are thousands of people, no police are seen. There are families, many young people.

It is done the same day that the arrest of a third agent was known. This is the officer Wanda Micaela Esquivel (32), who was arrested and charged for the crimes of aggravated cover-up and breach of the duties of a public official. She is one of the police officers who was together with officers Lucas Gómez (35) and Javier Alarcón (31), who fired at the Fiat Argo.

Alarcón and Gómez are also detained but for qualified homicide (for being members of a security force) and aggravated (for the use of a firearm). This Tuesday a new accusation was added to them for the attempted murder against the rest of Correas' friends.

As confirmed by sources of the investigation consulted by Clarín , there are sufficient indications to accuse Esquivel of the cover-up: it would have been she who planted a weapon inside a black bag, near the crime scene, to justify the shooting that killed the teenager.

In addition, another police officer who was at the scene of the incident, Yamila Florencia Martínez (23), was also charged, but for omission of the duties of a public official.

The march was scheduled to end at the Patio Olmos Shopping, after 7pm, with a clear slogan: in silence and without incident.
