" Like the entire national territory, the Puy de Dôme has been affected for three weeks by a regular and relatively large increase in the number of cases " of coronavirus, the prefecture explained in a press release.
However, these four cities - Clermont-Ferrand, Riom, Montpeyroux and Le Mont-Dore - are " likely to bring together a large number of people in small spaces, making compliance with barrier measures very uncertain ", underlined the prefecture, which plans to apply these measures until August 31, or even extend " depending on the assessment " of the health situation.
In Clermont-Ferrand, wearing a mask will be compulsory in the historic center and within the grounds of the Lecoq garden, in addition to the markets and flea markets. Posters and markings on the ground " brightly colored " will be set up around to help residents and tourists, over the age of eleven, to identify the areas concerned, the town hall said in a statement. Any offender is liable to a fine of 135 euros.
