It's only been 24 hours since Biden announced that Kamala Harris would be his runner-up. Their first joint campaign appearance followed promptly.

Joe Biden, US Democratic nominee

“We are at a turning point - you've heard from me before - in our history: a life-changing choice for this nation. And the choice we make this November will determine America's future for a very, very long time Donald Trump has already started his attacks, calling Kamala "evil" and lamenting that she is "mean" to his candidates. That is not surprising: Donald Trump can moan best. Kamala Harris had our backs and now we're going to do the same for her. She will stand by my side in this campaign and we will all stand up for her. And then we will get to work to fix the mess that President Trump and Vice President Pence have created. "

Kamala Harris also found clear words for Trump and above all criticized his corona policy

Kamala Harris, Vice-President Democratic Party

"The trial of Donald Trump and Mike Pence is open and closed. See where they have taken us. 16 million are out of work, millions of children cannot go to school. A crisis of poverty, homelessness, most of all Blacks, POC and Indians hits. And tragically, more than 165,000 lost their lives. While other countries have listened to the science, Trump encouraged faith healers he'd seen on Fox News, while other countries said other countries kept the curve low he, the virus would just 'fizzle out'. Quote: 'Like a miracle'. When other countries started their economies back up, we did what? We had to shut everything down again. The virus has affected almost every country. There are one reason America has hit worse than any other progressive state. It's Trump's fault for not taking it seriously from the start. He's had the longest economic run A swing of history inherited from Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And then - as with everything he inherited - he brought everything down. Because of his faulty management, our economy has suffered the worst damage of any major industrialized country. But here's the good news: we no longer have to accept the failed Donald Trump and Mike Pence administration. In just 83 days we have the chance to choose a better future. "
