  • Big decisions are ahead of the little Rottenbuch
  • Three possible locations have so far been kept free for a new Don Bosco special school
  • Now the way seems to be clear for the favored place

Rottenbuch - The small Rottenbuch is facing big decisions. It's about the local supply with a supermarket, the traffic situation on the B 23 - and above all a new building for the Don Bosco special school by Regens Wagner.

The village development depends on the new building

The development of the village depends on the latter. Because the municipality deliberately kept its gardening site free from over-planning by a municipal council resolution of 2018 in order to enable Regens Wagner to build there in an emergency. The location is only a third choice, but the municipality does not want to lose the welfare work under any circumstances. But now things are looking good for the location favored by both sides. The municipal council basically decided on how to proceed.

The property at the northern entrance to the village, in a Spitz directly on the B 23, was the ideal solution, was heard. Easy to reach and with enough space. So far, however, the monument protection authorities shook their heads because of the neighboring monastery ensemble. However, his opinion has changed, announced Mayor Markus Bader (Free Voting Association) in the most recent meeting. A new school there “would be conceivable”, he learned from Munich.

New construction at the old location is rather unlikely

For Bader (“It would work in terms of building law”) it would be a good solution. The second variant - a new building at the old location as well as on the neighboring Sporthartplatz - is questionable anyway: a school building would disturb the line of sight to the historic center, and the location is very cramped.

The coveted Spitz is privately owned and, according to Bader, there is basically an agreement with the owner about a purchase. But there are still financial difficulties. The problem is "refinancing by the state," says Bader when asked. “That is difficult for the operator.” Nonetheless, the councils unanimously voted in favor of the location. It is important "that we keep school in any case," made second mayor Vitus Gansler (Schönberger voter community) clear.

At the same time, the council decided to keep the gardener's area free of further planning until the end of the year. Regens Wagner is informed that a solution will be needed in six months at the latest. As reported, there is a supermarket as well as a fire station and a building yard domicile for the 12,000 square meter area. “We have to initiate that,” said Stefan Strauss (Free Voting Association) pressure. Heiner Heiland (Free Voting Association) doesn't believe in a school at the prominent location: “It doesn't belong there. This is a dead building, especially on the weekend. "

The plans for a supermarket on Postplatz have meanwhile been put on hold. In December the councils agreed on the planning draft of the Austrian office "LP architektur ZT". "We would have an operator for the design," says Mayor Bader - but the traffic situation is in the way. The Postplatz can only be used with a roundabout instead of the current B 23 intersection - but Rottenbuch would have to pay for the entire system itself. Bader: "We can't afford that."

Sprengelschule for the district

According to Regens Wagner, the Don Bosco Förderschule is the only facility in the Weilheim-Schongau district that is “specially designed for teaching and promoting children and young people with mental and sometimes multiple disabilities”. 108 pupils are currently being looked after in the primary, secondary and vocational school levels. There are also around 35 teachers and nurses plus 18 individual supervisors. The Rottenbuch general manager Achim Gerbig gives these numbers.

The building was built in the 1960s and, according to Gerbig, has reached its limits. “The rooms are too small and it is not barrier-free,” he says. The property is also in need of energetic renovation.

A new building has been considered since 2012. The current space requirement, approved by the government of Upper Bavaria, provides for twelve classrooms plus side rooms. In addition, rooms for housekeeping, music as well as art and craft education. The main usable area is around 2500 square meters without the sports hall, swimming pool and outdoor facilities.

Spitz on the B 23 "ideal variant", but the gardening site remains an option

Of the three possible locations, Gerbig describes the Spitz on the B 23 as the “ideal variant”. Nevertheless, a building request for the hard court location will be submitted this year. According to Gerbig, the other two variants are still in the room. Also the nursery site: "This is still a serious option for us," says the manager.

Gerbig understands “a certain impatience” in Rottenbuch. This affects their own need for a new school building as well as the expectations of the population with regard to the further development of the village. “We would have built a long time ago,” emphasizes the manager - but the authorities had “different views and opinions” in the past.

Regens-Wagner an important economic factor in the monastery village

Rottenbuch is one of 14 locations of the Regens-Wagner plant - and an important economic factor in the monastery village. 200 people are employed alone. In addition to the Don Bosco School, there are also the vocational schools, the therapeutic day care center, the living area for children and the branch in Peißenberg. from
