Seattle police chief resigns after cuts to her department

The city council voted to cut almost four million dollars from the Police Department, after protests in the city demanded cuts after the death of George Floyd. The reduction in the budget will cause 32 officers to be laid off on patrol and will decrease administrative and training costs. These cuts led to the resignation of the head of the Seattle Police Department.
