The first 100 days in the new volunteer office are over - Prem's new mayor Andreas Echtler has the "relatively quiet" initial phase behind him.

Prem - "Despite the good training, I was surprised how versatile the new office is and how many topics the community comes into contact with that you don't even think about at first," says Echtler, who in March won almost 60 percent of the vote was able to prevail against his competitor Michael Christa in the fight for mayor's office.

But this versatility of his new office promises a lot of variety, and above all it is an incentive to find one's way into every situation anew and to find an individual solution with those affected and the local council. Despite the intensive work, in his opinion it was the right decision to run for office. In a few years' time he will have the overview he needs to be able to say whether this is how he imagined the office to be.

At the age of 26, Andreas Echtler is the youngest boss in the smallest community with just under 900 inhabitants in the Weilheim-Schongau district. With good decisions, the “youngster of local politics” would like to return the leap of faith that he received from the premiers in the election.

The first encounters have already been very positive, and he is respected for taking on such responsibility at such a young age, says Echtler. "In addition, I am an honest and committed person, which means that my counterpart understands the questions about all the new topics and thinks it is good," says Echtler.

"I'm also a friend who discusses matters personally and then implements or notes them down so that they are always remembered and can then be dealt with as quickly as possible."

The native Premer describes his approach as follows: "I think at the beginning it is important to get an overview and to record all the points in order to then determine joint action together with the local council." This strategy is no accident - he was able to but already gain experience in many areas.

Andreas Echtler is a trained banker and, after completing his bachelor's degree in business administration, which he completed last March, joined his parents' carpenter's workshop in Sieber. At the same time, he wants to do the best he can for the interests of his home village and, in addition to the busy schedule, is also attending training for mayors. He also counts on a young and committed local council that covers "all sides" of the population.

He is also very well positioned in terms of administration and building yard. Echtler needs this support for his focal points: the creation of building land for young people as well as housing suitable for the elderly and handicapped, the construction of roads for agriculture as well as the maintenance and support of exemplary club life.

In addition, he wants to be a good, fair and above all uncomplicated partner for existing and new companies: “Regional companies are very important for a community. They create jobs and bring a sustainable income into the community treasury, which is necessary for future investments. "

In order to secure local supplies, he is also building on the successful work of his predecessor Herbert Sieber: He wants to continue implementing the “Old School” project, which was already presented at a citizens' meeting, in order to keep the village attractive for young and old.
