The City's businesses were put in check by the coronavirus pandemic and the extensive quarantine. From the sector that they represent, they assure that some 20,000 will close forever. Thousands are still closed. And this Thursday a key step was taken to be able to reopen them from next week, in one of the measures that will be announced tomorrow as part of the new stage that the port government proposed to get out of confinement

In a meeting that took place this Thursday between representatives of the Buenos Aires Trade Federation (FECOBA) and the Buenos Aires Government, it was agreed to move forward with the reopening of the Once and Avellaneda avenue businesses. The idea is among the activities that the head of government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, takes this Thursday to the meeting with the president, Alberto Fernández, and the governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof.

On the trade side, the president of Fecoba, Fabián Castillo , and the leaders of Avellaneda avenue and the Once shopping center participated. For Government there were the Minister of Economic Development, José Luis Giusti , of Economic Development, and Christian Bauab, Undersecretary of Small and Medium Enterprises.

Fecoba presented an opening plan that he had been putting forward since last week. That is, stagger the opening days based on the traders' CUIT numbers. Thus, those with even numbers may open on even days, and the same with odd ones. Zero is considered even.

The activity, if as you think there is an agreement and it is announced on Friday, when the authorities set the guidelines for episode 10 of the quarantine, it would start on Tuesday in Once, and on Thursday in Avellaneda .

Last week there were several merchants that opened in protest . These areas have a room next to the other and that is why agglomerations of people can be generated that can become dangerous and increase the spread of the virus. Therefore, according to the authorities, so far they have not opened. On Monday of last week they were authorized to sell by delivery.

From Fecoba they maintain that next week will be a kind of rehearsal. And from Friday both shopping centers will be operating at the same time.

" My impression is positive . We have been working very hard with this. Today we reached definitions and we hope that the proposal that the Head of Government brings to the President will prosper. The issue of gastronomy remained pending, which also concerns us. And the question was raised of insecurity. On Monday we had a meeting with Security people to advance with solutions. There are robberies and other problems in shopping centers, "Castillo told Clarín .

It also emerged that in the talk the growth of manteros arose in shopping centers where, despite the fact that shops are closed, illegal sale is installed.

In this regard, in the area of the Sarmiento train station, in Once, there are operations of the Buenos Aires government and the manteros, who are installed intermittently, leave and reappear according to the operations.

According to the FECOBA numbers, with Once and Avellaneda avenue the 70 proximity shopping centers of the City will be open. Regarding billing, the figures say that the average is 32% of what was billed last year. They claim that sales are growing, since during the first survey they represented 18% and then they grew to 24%.
