(CNN Spanish) - The attorney general of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, tweeted this Wednesday night that 15 more people - there are now 17 in total - processed in the case known as 'Operation Gideon' "admitted the facts" during the second presentation audience.

On this occasion, the defendants were, as William Saab wrote: Antonio José Sequea, Cosme Alcalá, Fernando Noya, Estewin Rojas, Luis Manuel Paiva Soto, Ederson Mogollón, Rosme Méndez, Rodolfo Rogríguez, Gustavo Hernández, Enderson, José Alvarado, Gilbert Barillas, Roberto Rondón, Carlos Conde and Jefferson Díaz.

Saab added that in this second hearing the defendants "admitted to having committed terrorist acts" in accordance with the criminal code in force in Venezuela.

CNN did not have access to this hearing. It was not possible to verify whether the defendants had access to lawyers and whether or not it is true that they admitted the charges against them.

In Venezuela, more than 40 people are detained on suspicion of having participated in an alleged maritime incursion, which the Venezuelan authorities call 'Operation Gideon' and which, according to the government, was aimed at overthrowing the questioned President Nicolás Maduro.

On August 8, also via Twitter, Tarek William Saab announced the 20-year sentence for Luke Denman and Airan Berry, US citizens indicted in the case.
