The Israeli enemy tried from the first days of the aggression to reach a cease-fire because it felt helpless and defeated in the face of the specific operations of the resistance, but the United States, with the complicity and incitement of some Gulf kingdoms and sheikhs and other countries, worked to continue the aggression until then-US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was forced to accept that after the failure of the aggression in Achieving any of its objectives. On August 14, 2006, a ceasefire could be reached, based on a resolution issued by the UN Security Council bearing the number 1701, which stipulated the prevention of repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.
