German cycling champion Maximiliam Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe) was hit by an outside car in the race in the final of the Tour of Lombardy, but was able to get back on his bike and finished seventh in the race. In a downhill bend a few kilometers from the finish, a car entering the course cut off Schachmann, who could not avoid it, and fell, injuring his shoulder.

After the finish, the German held his shoulder for a long time, visibly sore. “Information will come on his condition,” his training, Bora-Hansgrohe wrote on Twitter .
The race was also marked by the impressive fall of Belgian prodigy Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck), who fell over a parapet on a descent. The Belgian, big favorite of the event, was evacuated by ambulance to the Sant'Anna hospital in Como.
