President Alberto Fernández came out this Saturday morning to answer criticism and ratify that in the country, due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is no quarantine.

In a communication with radio La Red  - with an audio quality that made some words from the President sometimes get lost - Fernández spoke about social isolation and his position on him when faced with a question about the criticism his presentation had received yesterday, when he announced a new extension of social, preventive and compulsory isolation.

"It is clear that there is a very clear ideological position of certain media that understand that a sustained attack works. I do not understand why they do it. I understand that they are defending their interests, but the truth is that their interests are not being punctually attacked. "said the President. And he added that "as Axel [Kicillof] said the other day, there is a moment when it is very noticeable. The bitterness with the Government is very noticeable, the interests defended are very noticeable, the things that are hidden are very noticeable."

Immediately, Fernández reaffirmed that the quarantine does not exist: "Too bad, despite whom it may concern, the quarantine does not exist . Because quarantine means that everyone is isolated in one place, without being able to leave that place and the truth has been Argentina for many For months it has been making way for economic activity and therefore the circulation of people grew steadily, and that also explains the growth of infections. There is no other explanation. I am saying a truism, but what those media promote is to discuss the obvious ".

"It is obvious that in Argentina the quarantine stopped passing a long time ago. What there is is to preserve the health of the elderly (...) because more than 80% of those killed by the coronavirus are people on average 72 years old, and That cannot be neglected. That is a fact of reality. The rest have gradually returned to their normal activity. And this is what objectively occurs. If one looks at the indicators of industrial activity (…), Argentina today in terms of of industry, it is above the industrial activity that it had on March 19.
