Baghdad-SANA An earthquake measuring 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale struck Maysan governorate, eastern Iraq, without any known occurrence.

An earthquake measuring 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale hit Maysan Governorate, eastern Iraq, without any information about injuries or damage.

Alsumaria News quoted the Iraqi Ministry of Transport as saying that “the seismic observatories in the General Meteorological Authority recorded at dawn today an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale, 49 kilometers northeast of the city of Amara.”

And an earthquake measuring 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale hit northeastern Mosul recently.
