Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen announced today that wearing masks will be mandatory on public transport in her country, starting from January 22, after the increase in the number of cases of Coronavirus.

"The increase in Corona infections also means that plans to lift restrictions on the size of public gatherings will be postponed, with the limit remaining at 100 people for the time being," Reuters quoted Fredricksen as saying.

In mid-April, Denmark became one of the first European countries to ease isolation measures for the Coronavirus, when it seemed to have managed to contain the pandemic, but the rate of spread of the virus rose last week to record the highest rate since early April.
