Already compulsory since August 8 in certain districts of the second largest city in France, especially around the Old Port, the wearing of the mask will be extended to all of the city's first seven districts (which has 16), said Pierre Dartout at a press conference.
“ The wearing of the mask is extended in two types of municipalities: the most important municipalities of the department which have an attractive and dense center, it is for example Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Salon -de-Provence ... ”, explained the prefect. “ We have also decided that the most touristic municipalities can be the subject of a comparable decision. These are the municipalities of Cassis, La Ciotat, Carry-le-Rouet, Sausset-les-Pins, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and les Baux-de-Provence ”, he added.
Fourteen municipalities in all are concerned, and for each " the perimeter has been delimited in agreement with the mayors ". The obligation is also extended " to the outdoor spaces of shopping centers such as Plan-de-Campagne ", a large shopping area near Marseille.
