Syrian journalists celebrate their Eid this year while they continue to work in the fields of work facing a fierce foreign media war in the context of the terrorist war against Syria, militarily, economically, in the media and culturally, devoting their pens, cameras and even their lives in order to defend their homeland and convey the truth and expose media misinformation and plots weaved by hostile countries targeting Syria and its national constants And patriotism.

On the anniversary of the fourteenth Syrian Press Day, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers paid tribute and appreciation to the national media and its cadres who have proven that they have the right word and position and presented like other sons of the dear and precious Syrian Arab people in order to defend the homeland, its sovereignty, independence and its independent decision in addition to their great role in conveying the true image of what Syria has been subjected to nearly ten years of terrorism, aggression and an unjust blockade by the forces of aggression and evil in the world.

In a statement published on its website, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers saluted the souls of the martyrs and wounded of the Syrian press and its cadres who accompanied the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and transmitted them to the world and exposed the lies and falsity of the allegations of the media that are partners in the bloodshed of Syrians and exposed the crimes of terrorists and their sponsors and their systematic destruction of the infrastructure built over many decades of Development and work.

In turn, the Minister of Information in charge of conducting business, Imad Sarah, congratulated the media family on its holiday, wishing everyone continued success in the field of speech, pen and position, stressing that the tasks entrusted to the Syrian media professionals are very large in light of the political, economic and intellectual terrorism that is practiced against the dear homeland and in light of the difficult circumstances and modest capabilities Within which media personnel work.

Minister Sarah explained in a press statement that the national media is working very seriously to expose the misinformation and distortion practiced by media empires and mercenaries of paid media workers against Syria with the aim of undermining the steadfastness of the Syrian people and said: “We, as a national media, have to confront this disinformation and expose their practiced terrorism, whether through tools or originals. As for our weapons, it is our belief in Syria, the Syrian army and the Syrian leadership. ”

Sarah reaffirmed the need to adhere to the media code of honor and adhere to credibility and objectivity in reporting any event that Syria is going through, because our role as journalists is not only to expose terrorism, but also to expose corruption and the corrupt in the document and evidence.

In the context, the Journalists Union affirmed in a statement on this occasion that the journalists were only at the center of any stage of the terrorist war against Syria or its stations, so they escorted our valiant army in the field and exposed the falsification and misleading of the hostile media, and they were with the citizen, his concerns, successes and creativity, and fought a healthy battle with the medical staff in Confronting the new Corona epidemic, and in different fields of life they are still declaring their loyalty to the homeland and the citizen.

The fifteenth of August of each year was chosen as a holiday for the Syrian press in 2006, when President Bashar al-Assad visited the Fourth General Conference of the Union of Journalists, coinciding with the victory of the resistance in southern Lebanon. This visit left a positive impression on journalists and confirmed the status of their profession.
