(CNN Spanish) - Colombian cycling returns to the podium in Europe. This Sunday the cyclist Daniel Martínez was crowned champion of the Critérium du Dauphiné, one of the most important races of the World Tour prior to the Tour de France.
Martínez achieved the title of the well-known four-stage race with a time of 21 hours 44 minutes and 58 seconds.

The Colombian also won the award for best young man of the race.

Martínez, 24, defends the Education First team jersey where his compatriots Rigoberto Urán and Sergio Andrés Higuita run.
