" In the night from Friday to Saturday, 200 to 300 people invested without authorization a land located in Boutigny-sur-Essonne " to organize a party and " refused to put an end to it " and to evacuate the place, indicated the prefecture, pointing to " contempt for the rules of health prevention ", when the authorities warn of an upsurge in cases of Covid-19.
The evacuation of the site was carried out Sunday afternoon by the gendarmes who seized six vehicles as well as sound equipment, indicates the press release from the prefecture. Roadside checks for alcohol and narcotics conducted around the site have also led to the record of " many offenses ", the statement added, without further details.
The owner of the illegally invested land as well as the municipality lodged a complaint, according to the prefecture. At the beginning of August, a wild " rave party " in Lozère had brought together thousands of people for several days and led to the opening of an investigation for undeclared demonstration.
