Wang Yulai, the coordinator of the Trade Union, said that the lounge is like a "concentration camp." In the past, workers reported that the environment was bad but they couldn’t help. "Especially after the epidemic, the lounge was forced to become a big risk." The employees "everyone is at risk", but they have nothing to do. "In fact, the container terminal workers have always been so nervous, and everyone knows that the epidemic will break out sooner or later." He also worried that once the workers contact the infected seamen, the virus will be brought back to rest. In the room, a large infection group is about to break out.
Wang Yulai also pointed out that due to inadequate container terminal facilities, after the outbreak of the epidemic, some companies modified the containers as temporary rest rooms for the supply container workers. However, the internal environment was crowded and the sanitary condition was poor. As for whether to close the Kwai Chung Container Terminal, Wang Yulai believes that the government and the Department of Health need to deal with it carefully and study whether to allow the terminal to continue to operate under the epidemic.
