Police arrested 15 Chinese and Thai women against pornography at foot massage and prostitution establishments in Yau Tsim District

The Yau Tsim Police District Special Duty Squad personnel conducted an anti-vice operation code-named "JETTRUMPET" from August 14th to 16th after in-depth investigation, and raided several areas in Yau Ma Tei and Tsim Sha Tsui. The premises, especially for prostitution establishments that use foot massage as a solicitation. During the operation, the police arrested 13 mainland women aged between 26 and 40, all of them holding two-way permits or Chinese passports, and two foreign women aged 24 and 30 holding foreign passports. It is understood that the two foreign women are Thai nationals. The arrested persons were arrested on suspicion of "illegal immigration", "violation of conditions of stay", "illegal immigrants accepting employment" and "inciting others for immoral purposes". All the arrested women are now being detained for investigation. During the operation, the police seized a total of about 20,000 Hong Kong dollars in cash, a batch of condoms, lubricants and massage oils used in prostitution activities.

The police also emphasized that any premises listed in the "Prevention and Control of Diseases (Requirements and Instructions) (Business and Premises) Regulations" (Chapter 599F), including massage parlours, must be closed during the implementation of the regulations. Those who stipulate the above are criminal offences and can be fined up to 50,000 yuan and imprisoned for six months. The police urged that citizens should not participate in any prohibited illegal activities during the severe epidemic. The police will never tolerate any illegal behavior and must strictly enforce the law.
