      The Ministry of Education announced today (Monday) the pedagogical plan for the coming school year, which will open in about two weeks, against the background of the Corona epidemic. As part of the program, on the first day of school, parents will accompany the kindergarten children in small groups and in a graded manner. This, by a pre-determined schedule, when the separation from the children will be at the entrance to the kindergarten.

      In first grades, the parents will arrive in groups of up to ten students, and each child will be accompanied by only one parent. The matriculation outline will include up to six essential subjects, and the rest of the exams will be internal. Education Minister Yoav Galant announced that tomorrow he will submit to the Knesset Education Committee the outline of parental payments, which will be significantly reduced.

      Days of adjustment and accompaniment in the first days

      Kindergartens for 3-year-olds

      On the first day of school, the arrival will be graded and in small groups of five or six children, according to the schedule published by the kindergarten teacher. The activity will be regular, and the parents will say goodbye to the children at the entrance to the kindergarten, or someone will be in the yard wearing masks.

      On the second day of school there will be a gradual arrival in two groups. The parents will separate from the children at the entrance to the kindergarten, and at the end of the activity they will pick up their children. From the third day, the garden will be active from 14:00 to 08:00.

      Kindergartens for children aged 5-4

      Normal activity starting from the first day. The kindergarten teachers will have to prepare a short video or presentation, in order to introduce the educational staff, the structure of the kindergarten, the centers and the yard.

      Reaching first grade and adjustment days

      Reaching first grade at school will also be graded, in groups of up to ten students, and each child will be accompanied by one parent alone. The reception of the students at the school will take place in separate complexes, with no more than 20 people in each complex. The curriculum will initially include the completion of missing processes from the kindergarten period, and immediately thereafter the acquisition of reading and writing skills.

      Seventh Grades In the seventh grade, there will be introductory activities, personal conversations, a physical opening ceremony and a virtual ceremony, and activities to increase resilience and to identify difficulties and hardships. In the tenth grade, you will do formation activities, get acquainted with the digital tools and be ready for the matriculation exams, preparing for social involvement through digital means as well.

      final exams

      Six subjects will be taken in external exams. Three of the exams will be in mathematics, English and mother tongue - Hebrew or Arabic. Two more subjects will be chosen by the student from the humanities cluster: Literature, Bible, History or Citizenship. Another examination will be in one of the advanced subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Art, Geography, Dance, Communication, Languages, Theater, Education Physical etc.

      As for additional matriculation dates for sick students or those staying in isolation, each subject will have two dates, a regular date and a completion date.

      The study material for matriculation will be reduced by tens of percent.

      The study material for students in four and five units in mathematics will be reduced by about 10%. There will also be a choice of questions in the exam itself. Eleventh graders will be able to choose five out of eight questions, and twelfth graders will choose three out of five questions. For students of three units of mathematics, the exam will be conducted using the score accumulation method, in order to increase the chance of success.

      In the subjects of Hebrew, Arabic, English, and the humanities, the study material will be reduced by 30%. Also, in increased subjects in the theoretical and technological fields of five units, the study material was reduced by 20%.
