At the same time, she defended the municipal council against the accusation raised several times that it had not dealt sufficiently with the issue. After all, the committee has been working on this topic for four years.
Above all, however, she emphasized that operations were not impaired in any way. On the contrary: Schley explained in detail that when calculating the emissions, things are also taken into account that, according to the permit requirements of the district office, are not allowed, such as work on open gates. “We proceeded here with maximum indulgence. The decision was not easy for anyone here, "said the mayor, and later became even clearer:" The company can continue to work as before. "

Nevertheless, the more than half-hour discussion with the citizens resulted in a huge need for clarification. For example, it is not clear to the discussion participants how many apartments there will now be in total on the property and what traffic will be generated as a result. Several citizens expressed concern that, in combination with the planned development on the castle grounds, there could be considerable traffic looking for a parking space. It was also not known how the process of further utilization of the land would proceed.
Here the town hall chief gave detailed information: The part that is being sold to an investor will be sold to the one who presents the most convincing concept for the town council. This also includes a right of occupancy by the municipality, which of course has to be secured by contract. “It's a perfectly normal process.” In fact, there are many examples that this can work. Exactly for this reason, she cannot say at the moment how many residential units it will ultimately be. “The need for living space is endless in our bacon belt,” she continued.
