The severe economic crisis following the Corona epidemic is getting worse in the labor market. This is according to data from the Labor Force Survey for the second half of July, published by the Central Bureau of Statistics. 

These data show that in July the unemployment rate among the labor force among persons aged 15 and over was 5.1%, ie 209,200 people; This is compared to 4.7% in June, ie 191,900 people. The labor force rate of employed persons who were temporarily absent from work all week for reasons related to the Corona virus, in addition to those unemployed, was 10.3% in July, ie 421,900 people compared to 9.8% in June - 400,400 people.

The labor force rate of "non-labor force participants" who stopped working due to dismissal or job closure in March to July plus for employed persons who were temporarily absent from work all week due to Corona virus and unemployed causes was 11.9% - 496,600 people compared to 11.5% in the previous month - 480,500 people.

As for the second half of July compared to the first half of the month, among those aged 15 and over, the unemployment rate was 5.7%, which is 230,500 people compared to 5.2% in the first half of the month - 210,200 people. The labor force rate of employed persons who were temporarily absent from work all week due to reasons related to Corona plus unemployed was 10.9% which is 437,800 people compared to 10.5% in the first half of July - 426,900 people.

The labor force rate of non-employed workers who stopped working due to dismissal or closure in March-July 2020 plus employed persons who are temporarily absent from work all week due to Corona virus-related causes and the number of unemployed was 12.4%, ie 510,100 people compared to 12.3% in the first half Of July - 511,000 people.

As for the labor force characteristics in the second half of July, it appears that those aged 15 and over are 6,452,200 people and 62.5% of them are in the labor force. These are 3,801,000 employed and 230,500 unemployed. 2,420,700 are not in the labor force, of which 72,300 constitute 3% who stopped working due to dismissal or job closure from March to July. Of those who worked, 12.8% were temporarily absent from work all week, ie 486,400 people.

In terms of labor force characteristics in July it appears that those aged 15 and over are 6,624,200 people. Of these, 61.8% are in the labor force. 

These are 3,887,500 employed and 209,300 unemployed. 2,527,400 are not in the labor force, of which 74,700 constitute 3% who have stopped working due to dismissals or closure of the workplace during these months.
