At around 10 p.m., the operations center received reports about a man who is said to be walking around the city center and cutting himself seriously with a knife . A patrol discovered the severely bleeding man in the Pfarrstrasse area. “When he was spoken to, he made it clear that there was supposed to be a bomb in the backpack he was carrying ,” the police continued.
The man (34) was asked several times to stop. However, he did not do that, instead he approached the officers with his rucksack held up. A police officer first fired a warning shot in the air and then fired a targeted shot at the man's leg. He was subsequently arrested and taken to a hospital for emergency medical care.
