      Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clarified today (Tuesday) that Israel has not agreed to an arms deal between the United States and the United Arab Emirates under the normalization agreement. This, following reports that the agreement to normalize relations included a clause confirming that the United States would sell F-35 aircraft to the UAE. "From the beginning, the Prime Minister opposed the sale of F35 and other advanced weapons to any countries in the Middle East, including Arab countries that make peace with the State of Israel," the Prime Minister's Office said.

      It was also reported that Netanyahu "expressed this consistent position time and time again before the American administration and it did not change." According to his bureau, "the consistent opposition to the sale of F35 aircraft took on new validity on June 2 after the head of the National Security Council spoke at the request of the prime minister with Air Force Commander Major General Nurkin."
