Supreme Court Justice Dafna Barak Erez ordered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency to respond to a petition filed with the Supreme Court, explaining why the government and the Agency are not working to raise the bones of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav, a trained Ukrainian, to Israel.

The petition was filed by Sharon Scheltzer (Tel Tzur), a well-known Breslav activist, who, as stated, petitioned the High Court demanding that he issue a conditional order directing the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency to act to bring the bones of Rabbi Nachman of Breslav, a trained Ukrainian, to Israel. The government and the Jewish Agency worked to raise the bones of various personalities who died before the establishment of the state.

The petition filed by Sheltzer's attorney, Itamar Ben Gvir, further states that the state must work to raise Rabbi Nachman's bones to Israel, "by virtue of their position, which began in the state until today, to raise the bones of influential Jews for burial in Israel, due to the obligation to The desire of the dead - Rabbi Nachman wanted to be buried in Eretz Israel, and in cases where the leaders of the Jewish people in the Diaspora requested - the agency or the government acted to bury them again in Israel ", and" because the property of the Jewish people - Rabbi Nachman's tomb that many Israelis go to pray - is under foreign rule. In it without permission. "

The petition also states that in light of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister's announcement that this year will not allow mass immigration of Jews to Uman on Rosh Hashanah, the High Court is asked to hold an urgent hearing on the issue, in order to order the respondents to bring Rabbi Nachman's bones for burial in Eretz Israel. 13.10 (before Rosh Hashanah).

The petition also cites many cases in which the Israeli government acted to raise the bones of the great men of Israel for burial in Israel, such as the bones of the Hida, one of the greatest Spanish jurists, as well as other leaders and senior figures in the nation's history, including Benjamin Zeev Herzl and Zeev Jabotinsky.

Sharon Scheltzer said after the petition was filed: "I have no doubt that the Supreme Court will grant us the requested relief, which is in fact a relief for the entire God-fearing public in the State of Israel and around the world. Raising Rabbi Nachman's bones to Israel will flourish in all areas - spiritually, economically, tourism and more. This is a vital need of the first order. "

Advocate Itamar Ben Gvir said that "Rabbi Nachman was a Jewish leader, great in generation, from the light of Israel, who serves to this day as the rabbi of tens of thousands of Jews. "There is no reason why the State of Israel, which brought for burial in Israel the bones of other great people of the Jewish people, such as the Tzaddik Hida Herzl and Jabotinsky, and even the illegal immigrants, should not work to raise the bones of Rabbi Nachman, who has many rights in reviving the Jewish nation."
