A new report from the Social Observatory of the National University of La Matanza (UNLaM) shows that from the quarantine to prevent the contagion of the coronavirus, half of the respondents of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) fear losing their jobs, their business or your company. In addition, in the family economy, 36% recognize that they had to reduce expenses, but another 20% say they do not make ends meet and, worse still, 17% claim to be in debt.

"Among active and busy people, 51% feel very or quite concerned about losing their job, company or business ", describes the UNLaM report, after analyzing the responses of the 1,140 respondents in the AMBA between 15 and 17 of August.

When breaking down the figures, that 51% is made up mostly of men (52.1%), and in terms of age,  the most concerned are men and women between 16 and 24 years old, where the number reaches 57, 4%; while the age group between 35 and 54 also exceeds the average, with 54.2%.

The fear of losing a job, business or company reaches 51% of those surveyed in the AMBA.

When adding the answers "a lot" and "a lot" about the worry in the loss of the job, either as an employee, merchant or businessman there is a difference between the City and the Suburban. Among porteños the figure is 47.4%, while in Greater Buenos Aires that concern climbs to 52.4% .

"Expectations about the personal economy are mainly negative: 47.4% believe that within a year it will be worse," continues the UNLaM report, where 30.7% believe that it will be the same and 21.9% " best".

The Social Observatory also asked the inhabitants of the AMBA how long they think the country's economy will recover. 57.2% responded that they believe it will take more than two years . 23.4% answered that between one and two years; and 16.1% between six months and one year.

36% of those surveyed by the University of La Matanza in the AMBA had to reduce expenses and only 6.9% were able to save.

"In relation to the personal or family economy, 36.1% had to reduce expenses, 20.2% do not make ends meet and 16.9% claim to be in debt," they detail in the survey carried out this month. From the same question it can be deduced that only 6.9% of those surveyed were able to save ; the time that 19.9% said they have enough time for what they want.

In turn, with the relaxation of the quarantine, cases of insecurity began to grow and the survey shows that it is the main concern of the residents of the AMBA. This was the case for 48.7 of those surveyed. That problem pushed the economy to second place, at 42.4. While "the physical health of my relatives" completes the podium with 34.1, and very close, with 33.6%, "I may not have enough money."

They also inquired about the level of agreement with the prolongation of social isolation until the end of August. 29.9% said they "strongly agree"; 19.2% "agree" with the quarantine , which amounts to 49.1% of those interviewed. While 21.5% said they "strongly disagree", and 14.3% "disagree"; which gives a total of 35.8%. Furthermore, 15.3% said they did not "agree or disagree".

In a multiple choice option, the majority of respondents by the Universidad de La Matanza in the AMBA put "insecurity" as the main concern.

On the other hand, the UNLaM some time ago published a comparison between the surveys that it has been carrying out since the beginning of the quarantine. For example, in April "the physical health of my relatives" was a concern of 66.2% of those surveyed, while in June this item had dropped to 39.5%. "That the money does not reach me" was an option chosen by 38.4% in April, then it rose to 50.8% and remained at 41.6% at the end of June.
