Lavrov confirms the rejection of outside interference in the affairs of Belarus

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that the aim of Western interventions in Belarusian internal affairs is to impose order that they see useful for them, noting that the settlement of the situation in this country does not need mediation from anyone.

During a television interview today, Lavrov expressed his country's concern about the West’s attempts to interfere in Belarus’s internal affairs and said: “This is not only interference, but they want to impose a system that they see useful for them in Belarus.” In that, brute force was used against them.

Lavrov added, "The Belarusians will be able to arrange their own affairs and will not be led by those who need this country only in order to control the geopolitical space in order to promote the well-known destructive logic that says you are either with Russia or with Europe."

Earlier in the day, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that the West is interfering in the affairs of his country and supports destabilizing it, while yesterday he stressed the need to approve a new constitution for the country by referendum and the possibility of holding presidential and parliamentary elections in accordance with the constitution.
