Deir Ezzor and Homs-SANA
The General Organization for Drinking Water and Sanitation in the governorates of Deir Ezzor and Homs began rehabilitation and maintenance of the main water network in a number of neighborhoods in the two cities.
In Deir Al-Zour, the director of the Foundation, Engineer Rabie Al-Ali, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the workshops, in cooperation with international organizations, began implementing the fourth and final phase of the project to replace the main network in the area extending from the main station in Al-Thawra neighborhood to the Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood liberated from terrorism.
Al-Ali pointed out that the project aims to support and strengthen the pumping of water in a number of neighborhoods in the city, especially those liberated from terrorism, and is part of the Foundation's efforts to restore the water system to its normal state after the great sabotage it was subjected to as a result of terrorism.
Al-Ali stated that the works include digging and laying polyethylene pipes with diameters ranging from 500 to 315 mm, pressure of 10 bars, and a total distance of about 2.5 km, which were divided into four stages, the first from Al-Nour Hospital in Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood to Al-Firdous area in Al-Jubaila neighborhood and the second from Al-Firdous area to District leadership, the third from the district command to the Al-Sayed Al-President roundabout, and the fourth from the Al-Sayed Al-President roundabout to the main station.
In Homs, Eng. Hassan Humaidan, Director of the Corporation, said in a statement to SANA that the workshops had started maintenance work on the main network lines in the Nozha district of the city.
Humaidan indicated that the water line is currently being emptied to make a maneuver link to support the Nuzha and Akrama areas.
