Boca's pass market began to accelerate with the date of return to group training getting closer and closer and with the goal of the Copa Libertadores ahead. Thus, in the next few hours two new players will sign their contracts for Miguel Ángel Russo. They are Edwin Cardona and Javier García, two old acquaintances from the Xeneize World.

The coffee grower, who on Wednesday resolved the contractual issues with Xolos de Tijuana and will stamp (at a distance, for now) the signature of his return to Brandsen 805, already played 46 games and scored 11 goals with the blue and gold jersey between 2018 and 2019.

He will disembark on loan for 18 months with a special agreement that Boca put as a condition to accept his arrival: that Xolos de Tijuana take over half the salary. Thus, the player would arrive in the country on the weekend and, after swabbing, he must perform the isolation required by the health authorities. Then he will join the squad as a reinforcement that comes to replace the imminent departure of Emanuel Bebelo Reynoso to MLS.

Cardona, who went from oldest to youngest in his previous stay at Boca, was close to arriving at the club in January but his contractual situation interfered with his arrival. Now, although it will come to a loan (the club will have a purchase option), the agreement is for a much lower amount from the economic point of view and with a plus: if during its stay in Boca the Mexican team receives an offer to transfer it, from the Argentine CDs can give the go-ahead to cut off the link but receive 40 percent of that income .

For Russo's eyes, the 27-year-old Colombian can give an alternative to the offensive part of the attack that he did not have: the pause in the game and the possibility of rehearsing a team with a hook that dispenses with the speed of Sebastián Villa or of Eduardo Salvio.

But, like everyone else, he will fight for a place in the starting eleven. And something else: just as the coach knew how to revitalize his compatriots Fabra, Campuzano and Villa, for Cardona it will perhaps be the last chance to return to the national team taking advantage, also, that Juan Fernando Quintero can emigrate to an exotic football and less competitive.

The other player who has already signed his contract is Javier García. The 33-year-old goalkeeper arrives free after his time at Racing and at the request of Miguel Russo he will join the squad as soon as possible to have a replacement option in the event of a possible departure from Agustín Rossi or Esteban Andrada.

The club's soccer council confirmed to Clarín that they still had not received formal proposals from them, but that accelerating the swabbing, testing and adding it now will allow it to be available later when the squad enters the health bubble in the Ezeiza hotel. .

With Javier García on the squad, Boca will be able to define the fate of Andrada or Rossi with his replacement already in the day-to-day work with the squad. And while the rumors of a proposal by the starting goalkeeper and the National Team appeared in the last hours, it is most likely that Rossi will end up on loan to continue having continuity as a starter in another institution.

Goalkeeper Javier García, who arrives as a free player after his time at Racing, signed his contract until December 2022 and returns to the club where he was formed.

The idea of Independiente (NdR: Lucas Pusineri expressed his desire to have it) for now is not viable because the player's agent can bring an option from abroad. With a transfer window that will extend for more than a month, Boca does not want last minute surprises and that is why García, very close to Juan Román Riquelme but also with a good career in Racing in recent years, fits in the profile of a player who can empower a starter from a place of expectation without the need for continuity under all three suits, something that is imperative at this time for Rossi for his 24 years.
