It is well known that people drive too fast in Großweil and the associated hamlets. Now the church has become active. In large parts of the local area, Tempo 30 will apply in the future. It is well known that people drive too fast in Großweil and the associated hamlets. Now the church has become active. In large parts of the local area, Tempo 30 will apply in the future. Also in front of the school, while the lessons are taking place. Almost unanimously, the people's representatives decided to go this way.

  • The community of Großweil wants to calm the traffic.
  • Tempo 30 zones are being created in many streets.
  • The area in front of the school is also affected.

Großweil - The Großweiler municipal council has long since picked up speed five months after the elections. In the most recent meeting, the inner-city traffic came into focus. More precisely: the traffic calming. In a public survey, 620 households were asked about a possible speed reduction to 30 kilometers per hour in the local area of Groß- and Kleinweil including the hamlets of Zell, Pölten and Stern. Result: around 90 percent were in favor of the 30 zone.

New rules do not apply everywhere

Mayor Frank Bauer (Free Voting Association) made it clear: “Not every street will be reduced to a 30 zone.” He himself is a strong advocate of these zones. Section by section he went through with the local councils. After a majority decision, Tempo 30 will apply in large parts of the municipal area. Small spur roads and stretches, which are only slowly navigable anyway, are excluded from this; the industrial park as well. Interesting: The 30 limit will also apply on the main street, which turns into Kocheler Straße (Staatsstraße 2062) at school level during school operations.

Signs will be installed soon

They want to put up the signs during the summer holidays so that the way to the educational institution will be safer for the children just in time for the start of school in September. The state building authority has already given approval.

Ten councils for it

Of the eleven local councils present, ten were in favor of a reduction to 30 kilometers per hour. The Ohlstadt administrative community still has to approve and approve the decision. However, this is a formality. The legislature also stipulates very clear requirements here. The right of way in zones 30 must be regulated and the signs must be properly attached. The editions cover a whole sheet of paper. But there shouldn't be a forest of signs, as all local politicians agreed.

Review by Horst Piller

Horst Piller (CSU / village community) was the only one to vote against the 30 zones. “It doesn't do anything, it doesn't reduce noise or emissions, it just costs the community money,” said the council.

Traffic concept necessary

One thing is obvious: a traffic concept is essential for the location - also because the navigation devices guide tourists through the narrow streets of Großweil. This is only because the calculations show that the route is shorter. For example, someone who comes from the direction of Murnau and wants to go to Sindelsdorf will be guided through Alte Murnauer Straße. The normal route via the main road is no longer displayed to the navigation system user.
