The virtual convention of the Democrats comes to its closing night with the official nomination of Joe Biden as a candidate for the presidency. The Democratic National Convention arrives this Thursday for its fourth and final night of speeches and virtual celebrations (due to the coronavirus pandemic). This time, the most notable is that Joe Biden will accept the formal nomination as a candidate for the presidency by the Democratic Party, in a speech broadcast live from Wilmington, Delaware. Former campaign rivals like Mike Bloomberg, Pete Bittigieg and Cory Booker will appear on screen to support the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris formula, who was formally nominated as a vice presidential candidate Wednesday night.

The fourth and final night of the virtual Democratic National Convention is tonight and airs from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm. On Wednesday, California Sen. Kamala Harris officially accepted the Democratic vice presidential nomination, making history as the first black woman to achieve this milestone within a major party. Tonight, former Vice President Joe Biden will deliver his acceptance speech as a running mate from the Chase Center in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. This will happen on the final night:

Joe Biden has sought the Democratic presidential nomination for nearly half his life. He ran for president three times: in 1988, in 2008, and finally this year, when he said he felt the "soul of the nation" was at stake.

Tonight is his time to give that speech that many describe as the speech of his political life.

Biden interviewed 11 women for the running mate position. Tonight, three of them will join in a choir to support the former vice president.

Her message will highlight the diversity of women Biden envisioned for the position, who will speak on topics such as health care and supporting the families of war veterans.
