Mali: "a transitional president" will be put in place, "a civilian or a soldier"

The junta which overthrew Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta on Tuesday will set up " a transitional president ", who will be " a civilian or a soldier ", its spokesperson said Thursday, August 20 in an interview on France24 television.

“ We are going to set up a transitional council with a transitional president who will be either a soldier or a civilian. We are in contact with civil society, the opposition parties, the majority, everyone, to try to put in place the transition, ”said the spokesman of the junta, Colonel-Major Ismaël Wagué.
