With his speech this Thursday, the national leader of the popular is making his first assessments since he decided to remove Cayetana Álvarez from Toledo, a decision that has been endorsed by the barons of the party, especially those who support the moderate line such as Alberto Galician Núñez Feijóo. The leader of the PP has insisted that they are not willing to agree to anything with the Government. "We cannot be part of the governance of Sánchez," he said.

The leader of the popular has ratified a remodeling in the National Board of Directors in which the former Minister of Health Ana Pastor will assume the position of Deputy Secretary of Social Policy and the Mayor of Madrid José Luis Martínez-Almeida will be the national spokesperson for the party. These movements represent the new strategy of the conservative formation, closer to the center and with profiles more aimed at management rather than ideological battle.

Álvarez de Toledo's dismissal came after an interview with EL PAÍS last Sunday. The now dismissed had upset Casado with some of her statements to this newspaper, as she herself assured at the gates of Congress last Monday.
