We were taking a break in the woods, Oliver, 7, was chewing on a chocolate bunny and said, "The boys in my class say ponies are only for girls." Phew, what's next? I thought, and was already preparing for a gender debate when he continued: "I don't think so. Ponies come in seventh place with me." "Oh," I asked, "and what comes first?" Oliver looked at me in amazement, bit his rabbit again and said with his mouth full: "Well, osprey!" Of course, who doesn't know and love them, these cute rascals with a wingspan of up to 1.70 meters?

I was just able to dissuade him from the eagle, but the big pet lottery has been rattling ever since: guinea pigs? Pfff. It should be a tyrannosaurus for him, cuddly and house-trained, please. Or maybe a pot-bellied pig like George Clooney's (now deceased) 135-kilo Max? Hm, I heard they take so long in the bathroom.
