The former president of Uruguay, José "Pepe" Mujica, analyzed the current context in Argentina, the role of the President of the Nation Alberto Fernández and defined: " Argentina is not the banana tree that goes to Punta del Este to spend fortunes in 20 days" .

" Argentina is going to leave , but the worst problem they have is the crack, the hatred they have. They hit an iron in the neck, they do not find a middle ground and that is how it is difficult," he emphasized about the debt and the economic future from the country.

In that sense, he stressed that Fernández "is doing what he can," and evaluated: "I see from the outside that people are tired of the only tool we have to defend ourselves against this and that generates a breeding ground for disagreement ."

He also remarked: "I have a positive vision that Alberto Fernandez is trying to do the best he can. I am his friend and I have confidence in him ." And he confessed: "If I were 40 years younger, I would become Argentine ."

The former president also referred to the situation that Latin America is going through due to the new coronavirus pandemic: "We are going to leave with much more poverty and what is growing the most is uncertainty."

Although then he asked: "Do not come to me with the whining because we were covered with dictatorships and screwed up, this is not a straight path, there are advances and setbacks. It depends on our ability to fight and not on our whining ."

In dialogue with FM Futurock, Mujica referred to former president Mauricio Macri and compared him with the current president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou: "They have similar things."

"Lacalle's policy is very wrong to seek for Argentines to settle in Uruguay. The Argentines who come will not work the land , rentiers, speculators, swallow investors and others will come," said Mujica.

At the same time, he said: "This is a great moment only for the caranchos who want to buy cheap companies."
