First report from August 18: Munich - The storms in the Free State continue on Tuesday afternoon . There was already a thunderstorm in Bavaria yesterday . On Monday, heavy rain, hail and stormy gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour caused chaos , especially in the Aschaffenburg district . Due to the storm , cellars were full in many places and streets were flooded , as the Aschaffenburg district fire inspection announced on Monday. In some cellars the water was up to a meter high. In addition, sewer inlets had to be cleaned in several streets, as water masses
clogged them with debris . Around 130 firefighters were on duty.

Also on Tuesday, August 18, there will be several severe weather warnings for Bavaria . The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an official warning for several districts. Even today there are gusts of wind with speeds of around 70 km / h (20m / s, 38kn, Bft 8) as well as heavy rain with rainfall around 15 l / m² per hour and hail. Munich and the surrounding districts are particularly affected. But Bavarian Swabia between Ulm and Augsburg, Passau, the Upper Palatinate and the Bavarian Forest in Lower Bavaria are also affected.

Weather in Bavaria: A short heat wave is followed by storms again
The thunderstorms are expected to continue into the early evening. After that, the weather in the Free State calms down again. On Friday the temperatures should then climb to over 30 degrees again . From Saturday, however, there may be more storms again at temperatures around 25 degrees .
In the coming week it will be changeable. The temperatures remain mild. The heat phase then seems to be over for good.
