Tripoli-SANA

The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, called for an immediate ceasefire and all combat operations throughout Libya.

Saleh said in a statement issued today that, based on national responsibility and the current situation imposed by the deteriorating economic conditions, the inability to finance service sectors, the spread of the Corona epidemic, and what these challenges require of the need to mobilize the capabilities and efforts to confront them, we call on everyone for an immediate ceasefire and for all combat operations in all Over the country.

Saleh stressed that the ceasefire would cut off any foreign military interventions and end up taking out the mercenaries and dismantling the militias to achieve complete restoration of national sovereignty.

He continued that, with the aim of preserving the capabilities of the Libyan people, production and export of oil will resume and its revenues are frozen in the special account in the Libyan Foreign Bank, and it is not disposed of until after a political settlement is reached in accordance with the outcomes of the Berlin Conference and the Cairo Declaration and with the guarantee of the United Nations mission and the countries that support peace and stability in Libya.

He suggested making the city of Sirte a temporary seat for the new Presidency Council that brings together all Libyans, and an official security police from various regions will secure it in preparation for the unification of state institutions, provided that the military arrangements are completed according to the five plus five negotiating path under the auspices of the UN mission, in which all parties are committed to its outputs upon agreement and official announcement.
